Orchestra

At Westminster School, students experience a vibrant arts program alongside a challenging classical education. Beginning in third grade, students can join our orchestra program and receive instruction in violin, viola, and cello, with bass introduced in fifth grade. Percussion may also be offered based on student interest.

Orchestra students receive weekly instruction from professional musicians, rehearse twice a week in small groups, and perform throughout the school year at Westminster and in the Northern Virginia community. Students showcase their work at concerts and special events, including the Orchestra concert and the full-school music programs each December and May.
